Grey’s Anatomy Breakdown: Stormy Waters Ahead

There’s a storm three days away from hitting Seattle, Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital is trying to prepare for a beat down. Speaking of beat downs, Alex was out to open a can of whoop ass on Chest Peckwell. You may remember that last week’s episode ended with Jo showing up at Alex’s in need of a place to stay because Chest Peckwell (Jason) had hit her. The next thing we know, Jason is in the hospital with a severe brain bleed and Meredith, Christina, and Alex are in full crisis mode. The plan? Keep Alex from going to jail, but Alex didn’t do this–Jo did. Alex, trying to protect Jo the best way he knows how, is preparing to take the fall. Matthew, using a flash-mob, proposes to Kepner while Avery wistfully looks on. Owen decides he’s going to adopt Ethan, just as Christina wakes his father up from his 8 week long coma. Dr. Bailey, emerges from the lab to do paperwork until Webber forces her and Ross into the OR. Meredith gets kicked out of the OR because she’s pregnant and it could explode. Because of the storm, a construction worker flew off a building and into a few poles. In order to remove the poles, they need to use a 4.5-inch angle grinder with a cut-off wheel. The problem? Those have sparks, which doesn’t mix well with oxygen tanks. Since Meredith is pregnant, they all wanted her out of the OR. Meredith falls down the stairs and has a pretty intense pregnancy scare (she’s fine, for now). Avery, Arizona, and Dr. Boswell (Peyton from OTH) team up for a surgery. Dr. Boswell and Arizona flirt the entire time and joke about being control freaks. Later, they hook up in the on-call room while Callie wonders out loud where Arizona could be? The episode ends with Meredith’s water breaking and the storm arriving.

Top Moments from Grey’s Anatomy “Readiness is All”

500 Miles

The Flash Mob, of course! Something tells me this proposal isn’t going to last, but Grey’s can be a dark show and it was nice to have a special, happy moment. I also loved the way Grey’s used the slowed down version at the end of the episode, nice touch.

So Many Season 2 Shout Outs!

There were a ton of season two shout outs last night! I’m not sure what it all means but here they are:

The original “interns” know something and they’re not telling. This time it’s Jo’s responsibility for Peckwell’s injury, not Izzie cutting the LVAD wire. It was also very sweet how Karev and Christina rallied around Meredith after her fall. This baby is as much McDreamy’s as it is their’s.

Exploding OR’s. This time Meredith doesn’t willingly stay, she’s thrown out. And she’s pissed about it. She hasn’t really changed at all, has she?

People with poles through them. At least this one wasn’t caused by a train.

Babies, someone page Addison Shephard. Meredith is in labor.

An affair! It’s been so long since Grey’s had a good old fashion affair. Season 2 was full of them. While I hate that it’s Arizona and Callie, bravo to Shonda Rhimes for going there.

Trees Ruin Everything

Finally, we thought Alex was going to make his move on Jo. But no, a tree had to fly through the window and ruin the whole damn thing. Alright Alex, next week make this happen.
