QOTD – Midnight in Paris

Gil: I’m a huge Mark Twain fan. I think you can make the case that all modern American literature comes from Huckleberry Finn.

Ernest Hemingway: Do you box?

Gil: No. Well… Not really, no.

Midnight In Paris

If you haven’t seen this movie, I suggest you get off your soap box and rent it this weekend 🙂

  1. Corey Stoll’s Hemingway is one of my favorite characters. His plays a man so full of machismo it’s almost a caricature, but sincere, and then reciting all that Hemingway-esque “carpe deim” talk?! uh. Makes me want to do push ups wile righting prose.

  2. I wouldn’t say this is the best film I’ve ever seen or even my favorite (or my favorite Woody Allen film), but I think it speaks to me and I can relate to it more than any film I’ve ever seen. And damn it, I wish I could go back in time and meet Hemingway and Fitzgerald and Zelda… and especially Marion Cottilard!
